Eloy Ituarte is a District Board of Health member as the Washoe County Appointee.

1st term. Original appointment - Jan. 1, 2025. Expiration - December 31, 2028

Currently, Dr. Ituarte serves as the Chief Medical Officer for the Reno-Sparks Tribal Health Center.   Born and raised in Southern California, educated and trained in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes there, Dr. Ituarte moved to Reno in 1992.   Since then, he has been in private practice, retired from the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in 2016 and served as the Medical Director for Naph Care at the Washoe County Detention Center from November 2016 to early 2022.  In May of 2022, Dr. Ituarte completed studies in Population Health Management and received a Masters of Applied Science degree from the Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland.

On a personal note, Dr. Ituarte has been married for forty years, raised three children, two of whom are physicians.  Since 2005, he has volunteered with the Washoe County Sheriff Air Squadron and is an auxiliary deputy and served as Vice Commander.  Additionally, Dr. Ituarte has been involved in working with the Nevada Diabetes Association by volunteering his services at camps for children with Diabetes mellitus.  He has also been active in his church, and has served several terms on the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno.  Aviation (Private pilot), photography, marksmanship and stained-glass window art are his long-time personal interests and avocations.
