Washoe Suicide Prevention Alliance Goals

1. Suicide Risk Awareness. Most suicide deaths are preventable

2. Increased secure storage of lethal means when in crisis

3. Partnership: Gun Owners and Suicide Prevention Experts

WSPA Vision: 

-Increase collaborative efforts to reduce rates of suicide-related deaths in Washoe County. 

 WSPA Mission:  

-To create a space for organizational collaboration to reduce suicide through lethal means safety education, impactful prevention measures, and policy changes throughout Washoe County.  

-To reduce instances of suicide among firearm owners with the use of targeted education and prevention measures. 

-Increase suicide prevention awareness and measures with emphasis on lethal means safety education, decreasing stigma surrounding mental health and policy initiatives.
