Food Contact Surfaces

Properly cleaning food contact surfaces prevents cross contamination and helps keep food safe to eat. Food contact surfaces must be properly cleaned by using a 3-step process: washing with soap and water, rinsing in fresh water, and sanitizing in a solution at the proper concentration, before being allowed to air dry. Food contact surfaces must be properly cleaned after each use or at least once every 4 hours.
